With extensive experience using grabs and belt conveyors, LDPL is continuously developing new bulk logistics technologies and expanding its involvement in Self Unloading Barge projects. Our commitment to new technology caters to the needs of exporters of large volumes of dry bulk cargo who require a fast and reliable self unloading vessel system. The solution employed by LDPL is a 15,000 ton deadweight self unloading barge, designed to ensure a discharge rate of 40,000 tons per day. Cargo is directly unloaded from the barge onto any type of vessel, including Capesize, through a totally enclosed conveyor system. For environmental reasons, this system provides total cover of the cargo continuously through the handling and sailing process. Designing a self unloading barge with such capabilities has generated a particular challenge when considering the ease of access for maintenance operations. With our experience designing and operating transshipment vessels, we are aware that maintenance operations are very often expensive in terms of time and cost. That is why LDPL have selected technologies that enable good access and serviceability and are built with simplicity in mind; thus ensuring an extended lifetime of the installed equipment. This approach allows LDPL to provide its customers with a reliable and high performance bulk handling system and to assist them in achieving even more challenging targets in dry bulk exportations. |
